Hi there, and welcome to my portfolio! My name is Genevieve, and I’m a first-year student from Huntersville in the 2018-2019 Humanities course at Davidson College. For me, this year has been full of so many different experiences and learning opportunities, and this portfolio is a wonderful way for me to share that with you.
Before you explore, here’s a little bit about me. My friends would probably describe me as quiet but inquisitive, while Buzzfeed would describe me the “paper” from “rock, paper, scissors.” (I’m not sure exactly what that means, but somehow it seemed fitting. Also, you should take the quiz – it’s only 9 questions.) One of my favorite things in the world is being with my pets: my horse Coco, my dog Sophie, and my cat Mew. I also love music and play trumpet in the Davidson College Symphony Orchestra.
To get started with my portfolio, feel free to navigate using the menu at the top! My work ranges from definitions of key terms from our course, to my creative painting, to a movie review, to a research paper, to so much more. In the bottom of the page, I also have a gallery of photos from my trip to Russia and the audio of one of my favorite songs from the ballet I studied (the Act II Adagio from Giselle). The trip to Russia was one of my favorite moments of Humes, and I wanted a piece of it to appear on every page, so that’s why I decided to include it as a footer.
I can’t express how proud I am of myself and my fellow students for all the work we put in this year, and how grateful I am to everyone involved in the program (especially our wonderful faculty) for such an enriching and enlightening year. I sincerely hope you enjoy my portfolio!
